Ten Years with the Bear…

It’s happened. I never thought it would. Not that it’s a bad thing, but I was sure we would avoid it. We seem to think that time will escape us. One look at the bags under my eyes tells me that time does in fact find you. Ten years ago yesterday, my husband and I both popped a Benadryl at 8:00 p.m. We were dedicated to getting a good night’s rest. Ha! Twelve hours of labor and zero hours of sleep later, Miss Meg made her debut into our world, and our life hasn’t been the same since. A fuzz of dark brown hair with a tiny bow has turned into long locks and very few bows. Today my little girl, my firstborn, my sweet Bear turns ten. Stubborn, strong-willed, but kind and loving, Miss Meg has made our life the epitome of fun. From ballet to choir, chickens, softball, Girl Scouts, horseback riding and everything in between – this girl just loves to have a good time! So with a little tear (ok, lots of tears) in my eyes, I succumb to the inevitable reach of time. Happy Tenth Birthday to my sweet, wonderful girl, Meg! You and your brother continue to surprise us and delight us with all that you do.
